In the Holyoke Public School District, we want all families to benefit from meaningful participation in the education of their children. No one should have to seek language assistance from family, friends, or children in order to communicate with school or district staff. That’s why at HPS, we have a strong Language Access program to help families and staff members communicate effectively in their preferred languages through translation (written) and interpretation (spoken) services. Our Language Access Guide explains our guiding principles as well as the procedures we follow to deliver translation and interpretation services to all families who need them.
If you have any questions, comments, or concerns, please don’t hesitate to contact us.
The Pupil Services Translation Team’s mission is to ensure that families have meaningful access to all aspects pertaining to their child’s education – including programs, opportunities and services – by providing a multitude of language services such as translation and interpretation to safeguard communications.
Parents and Guardians
If you need translation and interpretation services, contact the main office of your child’s school. If your preferred language of communication is other than English, the district/school must provide you with “essential information” in the language you specify.
Holyoke Public School Employees
Please request translation and interpretation services through the Language Access page of the Staff Resource Center (intranet).
